What's a Clickable Map?
Many sites on the Internet present the user with a nice graphic
or artwork which doubles as a Menu. Certain areas on that graphic
are "hot-spotted", meaning that when you click on it, it will
take you to another place. This is known as a "Clickable Map".
Clickable maps are a relatively easy way to make your site a
much friendlier place. The down side is the size of the graphic.
If many of your clients access your site via slow speed modems,
you may want to use simple and small graphics or avoid clickable
maps all together.
Clickable maps are easiest to set up for Intermediate level
Web Weavers. If you consider yourself at the Intermediate
level and would like the details on how to hook up clickable maps
to your site, click
